Lot 35: Victorian Burr Walnut Pedestal Work Table

A Victorian-style pedestal work table featuring a rectangular top with rounded corners. The top is constructed with a central panel of highly figured burr walnut veneer, surrounded by a crossbanded border. Below the top is a deep frieze housing a single drawer. The drawer front is decorated with matched veneers and is fitted with a central turned wooden pull handle and a metal escutcheon. The table is supported by a central turned and carved pedestal stem. This stem terminates in a shaped platform base that rests upon four out-swept, scrolled cabriole legs. The secondary timbers and underside are not visible in the provided images.
