What do you clear from shops, offices and business premises?
Desks, chairs, filing and storage, shelving, display units, counters, stock, and the contents of back rooms and store rooms. It can be a full clearance when you leave, or a part clearance when you are cutting down on space or changing the layout.
Tell us what is loose and what is fixed to the building when you ring, and we’ll say what we can take.
What from a business can be sold at auction?
Older and solid furniture is the most likely to sell, along with pictures, clocks, glassware and decorative pieces from reception areas and offices. Our past sales have also included new stock, such as lighting, handbags and evening dresses, so tell us if you are left with unsold stock.
Modern flat-pack furniture and ordinary stock can be hard to sell, and we’ll say so once we have looked. A free verbal valuation tells you what is worth putting into a sale.
Larger items going to auction are collected free, with some exceptions depending on the item and where it is. Anything that sells carries our usual seller fees: a £4 lot fee per item, sold or unsold, plus 22% commission (with VAT on the commission only) when it sells. Our fees are deducted and the balance is paid to you.
Our seller rules
Electrical goods need a BSI-compliant plug. We don’t accept mains-connectable gas appliances. White goods must be clean and presentable. Furniture must carry a valid fire-safety label. We can refuse any item. The rules and fees are set out under selling at auction.
Questions about commercial clearance
How is a commercial clearance priced?
Clearances are priced on the volume and nature of what needs removing, and the cost may be covered or reduced by what sells at auction. We can’t give a fair figure without knowing what is in the premises, so ring the office or send the quote form with photos. See how our clearance works.
Can a clearance be booked around opening hours?
Clearances can be booked at a time that suits you. Tell us when the premises are open or empty, where the loading access is, and whether there is a lift or parking restriction, and we’ll say what we can do.
What should I tell you when I ring about business premises?
The type of premises, roughly what is in them, which floor and whether there is a lift, what is loose and what is fixed, and any date you need them empty. Photos help.
What are a business’s duties for the waste that leaves its premises?
GOV.UK says a business must complete a waste transfer note for each load that leaves its premises and check that its waste carrier is registered. What won’t sell is removed by a licensed waste carrier we work with, so ask us about the arrangements when you ring.
