Lot 34: Mid-Century Style Bamboo and Rattan Single Bed Headboard

A vintage single headboard constructed from bent bamboo and rattan canes, dating to the late 20th century. The piece features a prominent arched frame enclosing a radiating sunburst or fan-shaped motif. This central design is formed by multiple straight canes emanating from a semi-circular core, with the outer apertures filled with decorative looped wicker-work. The structure is secured using traditional decorative lashings throughout. The lower section includes a horizontal cross-brace with two protruding vertical supports designed for attachment to a bed frame or wall mounting. The bamboo retains a natural honey-coloured finish. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
