Lot 141: Silver Mounted Cut Glass Scent Bottle

A globular scent bottle featuring a clear glass body with a deep, hand-cut hobnail and strawberry diamond pattern. The underside is finished with a large multi-pointed cut starburst motif. The bottle is fitted with a substantial silver collar and a hinged, bulbous cap. The metalwork is elaborately decorated with repoussé foliate scrolls and C-scroll motifs against a textured ground.

The silver collar is struck with three circular marks: one contains a profile head facing left, the central mark is illegible, and the third contains a capital letter. An additional small white adhesive label is affixed to the collar, handwritten in black ink with the word SILVER followed by a question mark. The hinged cap opens to reveal a smooth metal interior rim; the original internal glass stopper is not present.
