Mid-to-late twentieth century floor-standing globe bar cabinet with assorted glassware
Description
A mid-to-late twentieth century floor-standing globe drinks cabinet constructed from wood and composite materials. The exterior of the hinged globe features a printed world map in a vintage nautical style, decorated with illustrations of sailing ships, sea creatures, and a decorative cartouche containing Latin text, including MERIDIONALI and OCEANUS. The interior of the upper hemisphere is lined with a printed paper lining depicting a classical celestial scene with mythological figures surrounding a central sunburst motif. The wooden horizon ring is decorated with a printed paper frieze showing the months of the year in Latin, signs of the zodiac, and degree markings. The globe is supported by a four-legged dark stained wooden stand featuring turned spindle-style legs joined by a cross-stretcher base. The lower internal hemisphere contains a fitted wooden rack designed to hold bottles and glassware. The cabinet is supplied with an assortment of glassware including brandy balloons, tumblers, and two green-wrapped metal containers. No maker marks are present.
