Description
A German Third Reich period Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände). The design consists of an oval oak leaf wreath surrounding a central motif depicting the water column from an exploding sea mine. This example is of late-war construction, manufactured from a grey zinc alloy. The reverse features a vertically oriented embossed maker’s mark for the firm Schwerin, Berlin. The badge is fitted with a vertically mounted pin and hinge assembly on the reverse.
