A George VI Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Named to G. Morgan
Description
A United Kingdom Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, George VI issue. The silver medal features the coinage-style effigy of King George VI on the obverse, facing left, with the legend GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX ET INDIAE IMP:. The reverse depicts a battleship at sea with a harbour wall in the background and the Latin motto DIUTURNE FIDELIS to the right. The medal is fitted with its original silk ribbon, which consists of a broad blue central stripe flanked by narrow red stripes and white edges. The rim is officially impressed with the recipient’s details: J. 33361 (CDE V. B. 14375) G. MORGAN. A. B. R. F. R. This indicates the medal was awarded to G. Morgan, who served as an Able Seaman (A.B.) in the Royal Fleet Reserve (R.F.R.). The INDIAE IMP title in the legend dates this specific strike to the period between 1936 and 1948.
