A Victorian Style Cut Glass and Silver-Plated Claret Jug and Two Art Glass Bird Figurines
Description
A decorative collection comprising a Victorian-style claret jug and two hand-formed art glass figurines. The jug features a clear crystal body with a deep diamond-cut pattern to the base and elegant vertical fluting to the neck. It is fitted with ornate silver-plated mounts in the Rococo-revival taste, featuring a scrolling foliate handle and a hinged domed lid with a decorative finial. Accompanying the jug are two bird-form figurines crafted from translucent turquoise-blue glass, each displaying a rough snapped pontil mark to the underside, indicating hand-blown manufacture. The jug bears a small white auction label marked 9308. Height of jug: approximately 13.5 inches.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. The claret jug exhibits minor surface tarnish to the silver-plated mounts consistent with age. The glass bodies of the jug and the figurines appear free from chips, cracks, or visible restorations.
