Lot 50: Mahogany Stained Long Footstool with Floral Needlepoint Upholstery

A long rectangular footstool of wooden construction, stained to a mahogany finish. The bench is supported by four carved cabriole legs, each terminating in a rounded pad foot. The frame features a raised wooden edge moulding that secures the upholstered top. The top is covered in hand-worked wool needlepoint on a dark blue ground, featuring a central floral spray of pink, red, and yellow blossoms, framed by a continuous border of stylized floral and foliate motifs in corresponding colours.
