Lot 321: A collection of decorative ceramics including a Chinese famille rose punch bowl and Chinoiserie blue and gold wares
3 views
A collection of four decorative ceramic items. The group includes a Chinese-style punch bowl and matching pedestal stand, decorated in a famille rose palette with polychrome enamels on a white ground. The design features floral sprays of peony and chrysanthemum alongside traditional auspicious symbols, finished with a brown-dressed rim.
The collection further includes a shallow circular bowl and a small baluster vase, both featuring a mottled powder blue ground with gilded Chinoiserie-style landscape decoration depicting pagodas, trees, and figures. The vase is fitted with two white adhesive auction lot labels, one bearing the handwritten number 12935 and the other a printed label for Shelbys Auctioneers with the lot number 321 and a barcode.
Also present is a character jug portraying a seated male figure in 18th-century costume, including a black tricorne hat and frock coat, holding a mug. A small turquoise-glazed lion figure sits at the base of the jug. The items show physical characteristics consistent with 20th-century production.
