Lot 306: A Pair of Chinoiserie Blue and White Transfer Printed Porcelain Tea Bowls and Saucers
3 views
A pair of porcelain tea bowls and saucers featuring a blue-and-white transfer-printed Chinoiserie landscape pattern. The decoration depicts a traditional riverside scene with pagodas, stylized trees, and figures, similar to the Willow pattern. Each piece is finished with a gilded rim and a geometric border band to the interior edge. The interior centre of each tea bowl is further decorated with a small blue transfer-printed floral motif. The vessels are constructed without handles, characteristic of late 18th or early 19th-century tea bowls, and the saucers are deep and flared. The undersides of all four pieces are plain white with unglazed foot rims. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or signatures are visible on any of the items.
