Lot 299: Two Swiss 8-Day Mechanical Desk Clocks by Swiza and Carina

A pair of mid-century Swiss-made mechanical desk clocks. The first is a Swiza 8-day alarm clock featuring a gilt metal case with a decorative stirrup-style handle and a rectangular pedestal base. The square white dial is marked SWIZA above the centre, 8 JEWELS below, and SWISS at the lower edge. It features gilt baton hour markers at the cardinal points and radiating line markers for the remaining hours, with gilt dauphine hands.

The second clock is a Carina 8-day model housed in a carved white alabaster or onyx case with a matching stepped pedestal base. The champagne-coloured dial is printed CARINA 8 JEWELS above the centre and SWISS MADE at the bottom edge. The dial features a sunburst design of radiating line markers and gilt dauphine hands. Both timepieces utilize mechanical movements.
