Lot 263: A Collection of Vintage White and Cream Embroidered Linens and Lace Textiles

A collection of vintage domestic textiles, primarily executed in fine-weave white cotton and linen. The lot includes a substantial white rectangular textile, possibly a tablecloth or bed cover, decorated with elaborate whitework floral embroidery and inset panels of needlelace and cutwork. The central decoration features a large scalloped medallion with dense floral motifs. Also included is a set of white linen napkins, each folded into a triangle and featuring corner embroidery with openwork accents. Two additional folded pieces are present: one white textile with delicate floral sprig embroidery and lace-trimmed borders, and a separate cream-coloured textile composed of machine-made lace with a repeating floral and scroll design. All pieces exhibit traditional hand and machine construction techniques characteristic of early-to-mid 20th-century napery. No maker’s marks, labels, or monograms are visible on the textiles.
