Lot 237: A Collection of Blue and White Transfer-Printed Earthenware Tablewares in the Italian Pattern

A collection of underglaze blue transfer-printed earthenware tablewares, decorated in the Italian pattern. The design features classical ruins set within a pastoral landscape, enclosed by a wide floral and foliate border. The assembly includes two platters, one rectangular with canted corners and one oval; a lidded tureen on a matching stands; two graduated nesting bowls; a teacup; and a stack of plates and saucers.

A small portion of a printed blue mark is visible on the interior base of the teacup, but the characters and shape are not legible. An auction inventory label is adhered to the lid of the tureen.
