This lot comprises an assortment of timepieces and accessories, featuring a pair of matching sterling silver open-face pocket watches and a mechanical stopwatch. Both pocket watches feature white enamel dials with black Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The dials are clearly marked W. GREENWOOD & SONS LEEDS & HUDDERSFIELD. The silver cases are hallmarked to the interior with a lion passant for sterling silver, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and a date letter Z. The inner case backs also bear the mark A.L.D for the case maker Aaron Lufkin Dennison. The interior dust covers of both watches feature presentation engravings dated June 6th 1924, commemorating gifts from the Leeds Branches J.S.G. to Mr. H. Hebden (serial 42083) and Mr. H. Walker (serial 42085).
Accompanying the pocket watches is a two-tone manual wind stopwatch. The dial is marked Gallenkamp and 1/5 SECONDS, featuring a central 60-second register and a 30-minute subsidiary dial at 12 o’clock. The case is constructed from base metal with a chrome-plated finish.
The set includes a wooden cribbage board with three rows of scoring holes and a storage compartment, and a fitted jewelry box. The box is covered in brown leatherette with a velvet and silk interior; the silk lid lining is printed W. GREENWOOD & SONS GOLDSMITHS & JEWELLERS 92, BRIGGATE LEEDS.
