Italian style hand painted ceramic figurine of a tramp seated on a wooden bench Capodimonte
Description
A hand-painted matte-glazed ceramic figurine depicting a vagabond or tramp figure resting on a rustic wooden bench. The character is portrayed wearing a tattered wide-brimmed hat, an open jacket over a patched waistcoat, and trousers with a hole exposing his right knee. His worn-out shoes show his toes protruding. The figure holds a terracotta-coloured jug in his left hand, and a packed travelling bag sits beside him on the bench. The side of the travelling bag features a small painted label reading HOTEL SPLENDID. A small bird is positioned on the ground near the figure’s feet, and delicate green foliage is held in his right hand. The figurine is mounted on a decorated base with a gilded scroll border.
