Description
A pair of painted resin bookends modeled as reclining figures in North African or Eastern-inspired attire. Each figure is depicted lying on a dark red cushion accented with gold-coloured tassels and trim, resting upon a black rectangular base featuring molded scrolling and rope-twist decoration highlighted in gilt. The figures are dressed in white robes with vertical black-striped trousers, black boots with gold-coloured bands, and red and gold-coloured turbans. Their legs are raised at a right angle to provide support for books. There are no maker marks, factory stamps, or model numbers visible on the exterior surfaces.
