Large Bay Keramik Fat Lava Glaze Earthenware Floor Vase
Description
A West German earthenware floor vase featuring an ovoid body, a short flared rim, and a flat unglazed foot ring. The piece is finished in a multi-layered reactive glaze, with a vibrant semi-matte red base transitioning into a textured, bubbly white and grey “lava” effect. The upper portion and neck are coated in a glossy olive-green and ochre drip glaze. The base of the vase features relief characters embossed into the clay. Clockwise from the top, the characters “04” and “BAY” are clearly legible. Towards the lower edge, the characters “W-GERMANY” are visible, partially obscured by the glaze.
