Three pieces of reticulated creamware ceramics including a Royal Creamware limited edition plate
Description
A trio of reticulated creamware ceramic items comprising two plates and a miniature shoe. The first item is an oval serving plate featuring a wide, hand-pierced reticulated border and a scalloped rim. The centre displays a monochrome black transfer print depicting Leeds Town Hall within a decorative scrollwork border, captioned LEEDS CENTENARY / LEEDS TOWN HALL / 1893 – 1993. The reverse bears a printed crest and text reading TO COMMEMORATE THE CENTENARY OF THE CITY OF LEEDS 1893 – 1993 THE LEEDS TOWN HALL PLATE EXCLUSIVE TO PETER JONES CHINA OF LEEDS LIMITED EDITION 5000. The second item is a circular cabinet plate with an intricate pierced reticulated border and a scalloped rim. The centre is decorated with a transfer-printed floral bouquet featuring yellow primroses and purple violets. The reverse bears a printed crown mark and text reading ROYAL CREAMWARE / LIMITED EDITION / ‘Primroses’ / In the collection entitled / The Floral Gift / Recreated from the original illustrations of Paul Jerrard. / Produced in hand-pierced Creamware in an edition / strictly limited to a maximum of 75 firing days. / BRADEX / 26-R83-001.4 / NUMBER / Plate Number / NOT FOR FOOD USE. The third item is a miniature lady’s heeled shoe with a pierced lattice pattern on the toe and sides, and a decorative shell detail on the vamp, finished in a plain cream glaze. A small, circular mark is present on the interior sole but is not legible as a name.
