Two Large Ceramic Ginger Jars with Lids one does have a big crack
Description
Two ceramic ginger jars of differing forms and decorative styles. The first is a porcelain ovoid jar featuring a high-shouldered profile. The body is decorated with a central figural scene depicting individuals in a classical garden setting with architectural elements. This scene is framed by a broad cobalt blue band at the shoulder and foot, embellished with gilded geometric and scrolling foliate patterns. The white ground is further decorated with polychrome floral sprays. It is topped with a domed lid featuring a corresponding cobalt and gold border and a pointed gilt finial.
The second jar is of baluster form with a wide, rounded body. It is decorated in an Imari-inspired palette of iron red, cobalt blue, and yellow with gilt highlights. The design features large stylized floral medallions and scrolling foliate borders. The shoulder and the flattened domed lid are decorated with scalloped panels containing floral motifs. The lid is finished with a tiered circular finial. A white adhesive label is present on the body of the ovoid jar, and a white label with a barcode is also visible. No maker’s marks or country-of-origin marks are visible in the provided images.
