A Mahogany Twin-Pedestal Desk in the George III Style
Description
A mahogany twin-pedestal desk constructed in the George III style, likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece features a rectangular top with a moulded mahogany border, inset with a dark-coloured leather writing surface. The drawer configuration comprises a traditional nine-drawer arrangement, with three drawers across the frieze and three in each pedestal. Each drawer front is fitted with brass swan-neck handles on shaped backplates and a central keyhole. The desk is supported by shaped bracket feet. No maker’s marks or labels were identified during inspection.
