Victorian Framed Sheet Music Lithograph Albert Victor of Wales by John Pridham
Description
This item is a framed Victorian lithographic sheet music cover titled Albert Victor of Wales, designated as number one in the Royal Gems series. The central tinted lithograph illustrates a young Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, in naval attire, positioned against a cannon on a ships deck. Prince Albert Victor was the eldest son of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, and the grandson of Queen Victoria. The work is described as a Descriptive Piece for the Pianoforte by the Victorian composer John Pridham. The publishers imprint reads London, Evans and Co, 32 Argyll Street, Regent Street. W. A small, partially obscured artists mark in the lower left corner of the image is attributed to John Brandard. The print is housed within a dark wood frame featuring a wide tan-coloured mount. A small white label is present on the glass in the upper left corner.
