An Antique Ansonia Clock Company Regulator A Wall Clock
Description
An American schoolhouse style Regulator A drop-dial wall clock, manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Company of New York. The wooden case features a traditional octagonal bezel surrounding the dial, connected to a tapered drop-case with a pointed base. The circular dial is finished in an off-white colour with black Roman numeral hour markers, two winding holes, and black metal hands. A glazed door to the lower case reveals a brass-faced pendulum bob and features gilt-effect transfer printing reading REGULATOR above the Ansonia diamond-shaped trademark containing the letter A. The clock is fitted with a mechanical twin-train movement, designed for time and strike. While currently pictured in a horizontal orientation, this item is designed for vertical wall mounting.
