Early 20th-century Gilt-Tooled Leather Travel Dressing Set
Description
An early 20th-century travel dressing or vanity set housed in a brown leather Gladstone-style case. The exterior lid features an elaborate gilt-tooled border decorated with foliate scrolls and fleur-de-lis motifs. The case is fitted with a single leather carrying handle and a central brass-toned flip-lock clasp. The interior is lined with brown fabric and contains various gold-toned grooming accessories secured by leather loops. The contents include a hairbrush and a clothes brush with polished metal backs, one large rectangular lidded canister, two small cylindrical canisters, and a comb housed in a dedicated pocket. No maker’s marks are visible.
