A Pair of Late 18th Century Style Stipple Engravings of Domestic Scenes
Description
A pair of late 18th-century style stipple engravings, likely printed in colours or hand-coloured, depicting domestic scenes of women in Georgian-period attire within oval vignettes. The upper print portrays a woman in a blue-ribboned mob cap reading a letter at a tea table, while the lower composition features a woman in similar dress at a table with a pitcher. The works are presented in circular formats within dark brown mounts. Both pieces are housed in matching dark wood fluted frames with pale inner slips. No artist signature, plate marks, or publication details are visible through the glass. These works are characteristic of the fancy prints produced by engravers such as Francesco Bartolozzi in the late Georgian period.
