1939 Iron Cross 1st Class, Maker Marked 1, Deschler & Sohn
Description
A 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse) manufactured by Deschler & Sohn, München. The award features a standard three-piece construction, consisting of a black-finished magnetic core sandwiched between two silvered frame halves. The obverse centre displays a raised swastika and the date 1939 at the base of the lower arm. The reverse is a flat, silvered surface equipped with a vertical pin and catch for uniform attachment. The reverse of the attachment pin is stamped with the numeral 1 inside a square border, identifying the manufacturer as Deschler & Sohn. The medal is presented in a modern blue velvet-lined display case.
