Schylling Dr. Livingstone Safari Traction Engine and Trailer Set
Description
A collectible toy traction engine and trailer set, identified as the Dr. Livingstone Safari model produced by Schylling. The traction engine features a brown-painted boiler, a black smokestack, and a black front assembly. It is equipped with a prominent red-painted spoked flywheel and a yellow rectangular canopy supported by black posts. The manual steering mechanism uses a chain linkage connected to the front axle. The accompanying open-top trailer is finished in matching brown and sits on four spoked wheels. The trailer contains a set of four hand-painted figures wearing light-coloured safari uniforms and pith helmets. The model is constructed from a combination of die-cast metal and plastic components. A white rectangular inventory label with the handwritten number 4703 is adhered to the top of the canopy.
