Late Victorian Two-Piece Stained Hardwood Sideboard with Glazed Display Hutch
Description
A two-piece display cabinet or sideboard with a hutch, dating to the late Victorian or early 20th-century Edwardian period. The unit is constructed from a dark-stained hardwood and features a separate upper glazed section resting upon a larger base unit. The top section contains a pair of glazed doors with distinctive arched wood frames, enclosing internal wooden shelving. The upper and lower sections are separated by an open recessed shelf area featuring shaped side supports. The base section is configured with an asymmetrical layout comprising a stack of drawers to the left and a single large panelled cupboard door to the right. The piece is fitted with period-style ornate brass bail handles and decorative backplates with matching escutcheons.
