A matched pair of Victorian style balloon-back side chairs constructed from a stained hardwood. Each chair features an oval back with an open crest rail carved with floral and foliate motifs, supported by dual uprights attached to the rear rail. The oval back panels are upholstered in a sage green velvet fabric with deep button-tufting and bordered with brass-toned close nailing. The rounded seats are covered in a coordinating sage green woven textile. The frame includes carved apron rails and is raised on two front cabriole legs with carved knees terminating in scroll feet, alongside two square-section splayed rear legs.
