Lot 313: A Collection of Silver Plated Tea and Coffee Service Items with Trays

A collection of silver plated tea and coffee service items accompanied by two trays. The primary service is of neo-classical form, featuring pedestal bases and high-looped handles. This group includes a coffee pot, a teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, and two waste bowls, one fitted with a green glass or plastic liner and the other with a yellow liner. An additional helmet-shaped cream jug with a scrolled handle is also present.

The collection includes a large oval galleried tray with a pierced reticulated edge and an engraved ground. Also present is a smaller circular footed salver designed in the Chippendale style with a shell and scroll border and a central floral and scroll engraved design. A small circular bottle coaster with a wooden base and silver-toned rim is situated on the larger tray.

No maker’s marks or hallmarks are readable on the surfaces of the items. Several items show the underlying base metal through the silver plating.
