Lot 250: Ansonia American Gothic Revival Wood Steeple Clock

An American Gothic Revival steeple clock featuring a wood-veneered case with a pointed gable top. The case is flanked by two turned finials and sits on a stepped rectangular base. The glazed front door is divided into two sections. The upper section contains a white dial with black Roman numerals and two metal hands. The dial is marked with a printed cursive signature reading Ansonia above the centre and U.S.A. at the bottom edge. A lower rectangular glass panel features a colour transfer-printed scene depicting two birds amongst aquatic grasses and reeds. A small metal swivel latch is mounted to the left side of the door.
