Modern Mahogany Finish Moon Phase Longcase Clock
Description
A floor-standing longcase clock featuring a wood case with a mahogany-tone finish. The hood is designed with a break-arch top containing three burr-wood veneer panels. The trunk houses a full-length glazed door with arched mouldings at the top and bottom, flanked by fluted pilasters with gilt-toned metal capitals and bases. The plinth base is decorated with recessed panels and sits on bracket feet. The ornate brass-tone dial features a silvered chapter ring with Roman numeral hour markers and an inner ring with Arabic numerals. The dial centre is decorated with elaborate scrolling filigree. The arch contains a moon phase disc showing a lunar calendar and illustrations. The clock features a mechanical weight-driven movement. Visible through the glazed trunk are three brass-cased weights suspended by chains and a gridiron-style pendulum with a large circular brass bob. There are no maker names or signatures visible on the dial or within the case in the provided images. A rectangular white sticker is present on the glass of the dial door, but the text is not legible.
