An Assortment of Bisque Porcelain and Plush Dolls and Teddy Bears including a steiff bear
Description
A collection of dolls and soft toys comprising two bisque-headed dolls, two Japanese geisha figures, and two plush teddy bears. The collection includes a large doll featuring a painted bisque head with an open mouth showing upper teeth, rosy cheeks, and blue glass eyes, wearing a light green and white lace-trimmed outfit and a white lace-trimmed sun hat. A second fashion doll features a bisque head with stationary blue glass eyes and a curly brown wig, dressed in a layered ivory-coloured Victorian-style lace and ruffled gown with a matching wide-brimmed bonnet. Two traditional Japanese geisha figures are included, each mounted on a rectangular black wooden plinth. Both figures have white-painted faces with hand-painted features and black hair styled in traditional coiffures with ornaments. The first geisha wears a yellow and red patterned kimono, while the second wears a blue floral patterned kimono with a red obi and a red outer garment, holding a small paper accessory. The soft toy component includes a brown plush bear wearing a red velvet hat and a red sweater embroidered with the text Harrods in gold-toned thread; a yellow plastic-coated metal tag is fastened to the left ear. A light blue textured plush teddy bear features a stitched smile and black eyes, with the letters M Y embroidered in blue thread on the sole of the right foot. A white adhesive label reading 12893 D is attached to the yellow kimono of the first geisha.
