Two items comprising a 1970 U.S. Games Systems Tarot Fortune Telling Game and a boxed copy of Love A Keepsake
Description
This lot consists of two vintage publications. The first item is a Tarot de Marseille style card deck box, marked on the lower front cover with a logo containing the letters U, S, G, S and the text U.S. GAMES SYSTEMS, Inc., New York, N.Y. The bottom of the yellow cardboard slipcase box is printed with the year 1970 and the code TG 700. The front of the slipcase displays four major arcana card illustrations titled X LAROUE DE FORTUNE, XIII TEMPERANCE, VIII LA JUSTICE, and VIII L L’ERMITE, displaying a typographical error where L’Ermite is mislabelled with the Roman numeral VIII instead of IX. The second item is a small gift book titled LOVE, bound in burgundy cloth with the title stamped in gilt on the front board. It is housed in its original brown textured card slipcase, which features a pictorial paper label on the front showing a woman in Victorian-style dress alongside the title LOVE: A Keepsake.
