A Victorian fluted copper and brass gunpowder flask
Description
A Victorian-style gunpowder flask featuring a fluted pear-shaped body constructed from two halves of embossed copper joined at the seams. The flask is fitted with a brass charger and a spring-loaded measuring nozzle. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the centre of the body reading SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS LOT 264 01132502626 in black print. A smaller white rectangular adhesive label is positioned near the neck bearing the handwritten number 12870 in black ink. The surface displays a dark aged patina with areas of tarnish and verdigris throughout. No maker name or markings are legible on the nozzle or charger mechanism.
