Lot 130: A Collection of Fifty Miniature Glazed Ceramic Animal and Character Figurines

A collection of fifty miniature figurines crafted from molded ceramic with a high-gloss vitrified glaze. The assortment encompasses a diverse range of subject matter including mammals such as an elephant, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, armadillo, hedgehog, squirrel, rabbit, and pig, alongside various canine breeds including terriers and a poodle. Avian subjects are represented by an owl, a swan, and a bluebird in flight. The group further includes a butterfly, a fish, and a seated human figure in traditional dress. The figurines are finished in a variegated colour palette characteristic of mid-20th-century decorative miniatures, featuring tones of amber, chocolate brown, sky blue, sage green, and cream. Each piece is solid-cast with molded anatomical details. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the upper surfaces, and the undersides are not shown.
