Standard Monarch Portable Four-Speed Record Player
Description
A mid-20th century portable record player housed in a black textured rexine-covered case. The unit features a turntable deck with four speed settings for 16, 33, 45, and 78 RPM, identified by a black and silver nameplate reading Monarch. To the right of the turntable is a vertically oriented control panel with three silver-toned rotary knobs for TREBLE, BASS, and VOL. The detachable lid, which functions as a speaker, is mounted with a triangular metal badge bearing a stylised logo and the word STANDARD. The case is fitted with a chrome-plated metal carry handle and two side-mounted toggle latches.
