A Pye 9600 Car Radio and Two Matching Speakers
Description
This set comprises a vintage Pye 9600 car radio unit and two matching square speakers. The radio features a brushed metal and black plastic faceplate with two large circular knobs; the left is labelled ON-OFF VOLUME and the right TUNING, with a mono / stereo toggle switch positioned above. The vertical tuning dial is printed with the maker name PYE and the model number 9600. The metal radio housing bears three adhesive factory labels. A red and black label reads Caution!! This radio is for 12 Volt negative grounded operation only. A second label lists the FREQUENCY RANGE as MW 510 ~ 1600 KHz and LW 150 ~ 285 KHz. A white label is printed with Serial No. 763633. The two accompanying black plastic speakers feature perforated grilles, each with a small rectangular badge; the text on these badges is not legible. Several wires protrude from the rear of the radio chassis, including a black wire with an integrated fuse holder and multiple cut blue and white wires.
