Lot 369: Two Vintage Industrial Wooden Weaving Shuttles

Two industrial textile weaving shuttles of tapered hardwood construction. The larger shuttle features internal metal spring-tensioned hardware designed to hold a bobbin. Affixed to its side are two white adhesive paper labels; one is hand-inscribed with the characters 12-51 and the other bears the printed number 369. The smaller shuttle contains a central wooden pirn partially wound with light green yarn, seated within an internal cavity lined with a soft fibrous material, possibly fur, used for thread tension management. Both pieces exhibit metal components with an aged patina.
