Lot 367: A Victorian Style Two-Pan Shop Counter Scale with Marble Top

A two-pan shop counter scale featuring a rectangular black-finished base surmounted by a white marble top plate. The scale supports two circular brass weighing pans. The front of the base is set with a circular brass-rimmed window housing a central balance indicator pointer. A white adhesive label is affixed to the right-hand brass pan, printed with the text SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS above the number 367. A smaller white sticker located on the front left of the base is handwritten with the figures 12851 above a smaller 7. The base features a moulded plinth and shows construction consistent with utilitarian retail equipment.
