Description
A pair of prints on paper by Alex de Andreis (1871-1939) depicting interior genre scenes with figures in 17th-century cavalier costume. The first print shows a seated man in a red jacket being served by a woman in an interior setting. The second print depicts three men at a dining table, including one in a chef’s toque. Both works are housed in matching ornate gilt-finished frames featuring elaborate scrolled and foliate corner and centre mouldings. The first print is inscribed CHAFF and A. DE ANDREIS in the lower margin. The second print is inscribed INTERVIEWING THE CHEF and A. DE ANDREIS in the lower margin.
