A Victorian Carolean Revival Carved Oak Side Chair
Description
A Victorian Carolean revival side chair constructed from dark-stained oak. The chair features prominent barley-twist turning on the front legs, back uprights, and stretchers. The back consists of a central vertical splat with pierced and carved foliate scrolls, topped by a crest rail with leaf-carved ears. The padded seat is upholstered in crimson red velvet with a stud-trimmed border, set into a seat frame with a repeating carved geometric pattern. The chair is supported by barley-twist legs joined by an H-stretcher and a matching front stretcher. A small white rectangular inventory label is present on the centre of the back splat.
