Lot 330: A Collection of Kutani Eggshell Porcelain Tea and Coffee Service Pieces

A collection of approximately thirty-five Kutani eggshell porcelain tea and coffee service pieces decorated in the Geisha Girl style. The service features hand-painted polychrome enamel scenes depicting figures in traditional Japanese dress within landscape settings, including views of a snow-capped Mount Fuji. The porcelain is of the eggshell variety, characterised by its extreme thinness and translucency. The pieces are accented with gilt highlights on the rims, handles, and spouts. The service includes a large lidded teapot, a medium-sized lidded teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, an open waste bowl, two circular serving plates, and an assortment of side plates, saucers, and teacups in two distinct forms. A modern adhesive inventory label marked 12783 2 is present on the largest teapot. No original maker marks are visible on the exterior or presented surfaces.
