Lot 165: M.A.B. Acrylic River Landscape with Moored Boat

An acrylic on canvas painting depicting an atmospheric river landscape rendered in a tonalist style. The composition features a small rowing boat moored amongst dense reeds and lily pads in the foreground, with the background receding into a hazy mist where the silhouette of a distant building is faintly visible. The brushwork varies from textured applications in the foreground foliage to smooth, blended passages in the sky and water. The painting is signed in the lower left-hand corner with the initials M.A.B. It is housed in a traditional gilt-wood frame with a wide inner slip and a beaded outer moulding. A small auction or inventory sticker with the number 501 is attached to the left edge of the frame.
