A Trio of Ringtons Centenary Commemorative Ceramic Items and Original Box
Description
A commemorative tea set produced for the centenary of Ringtons tea merchants, spanning the years 1907 to 2007. The set consists of a teapot and two mugs, crafted from white ceramic, identified through web consensus as fine bone china. Each item is decorated with transfer-printed designs, featuring a cobalt blue band around the rim or shoulder containing the text RINGTONS CENTENARY in gold-tone lettering. The central motif on each piece is the Ringtons company crest, showing a stylized R within a shield surrounded by gold and black scrollwork, positioned between the dates 1907 and 2007. One mug depicts a traditional horse-drawn Ringtons delivery van and bears the inscription TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF QUALITY AND SERVICE. The teapot is fitted with a lid featuring a gilded finial. The set is presented in its original cream-coloured cardboard box, which is printed with RINGTONS, EST. 1907, NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, and FINE TEA MERCHANTS within a decorative scroll border.
