Description
Vincent Selby (1919-2004), a rural winter landscape, acrylic on canvas. The composition features two prominent bare trees in the foreground, rendered with fine, detailed brushwork. In the middle ground, a cluster of red-roofed farm buildings is nestled within a wintry field under a pale blue and white sky. The work is signed Vincent Selby (recorded also as Vincent Shelby) in cursive script to the lower right. The painting is housed in an ornate, gilt-finished swept frame decorated with shell and acanthus leaf motifs at the corners and centres. A small white auction label with the number 9754 is affixed to the right side of the frame.
