Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers
Description
A Victorian mahogany chest of drawers of substantial proportions, dating from the mid-to-late 19th century. The chest features rounded front corners to the carcass and top, configured with two short drawers over three long graduated drawers. The drawer fronts are embellished with flame mahogany veneers and each is fitted with two turned mahogany knobs. Centrally positioned keyholes are present on each drawer. The chest is raised upon four large turned bun feet. The secondary woods are not visible but construction appears consistent with the period, likely featuring hand-cut dovetail joints. A modern auction inventory label is attached to the left-hand side.
