Two items of blue and white ceramic kitchenware comprising a Frederick Rathbone Burgess cheese dome and a Sherry flagon
Description
A collection of two blue and white decorated ceramic kitchenware items. The first item is a circular cheese dish and cover by Frederick Rathbone Burgess, featuring an all-over blue and white floral chintz-style transfer pattern. The dome is fitted with a moulded finial and bears a circular transfer-printed mark on the side reading Frederick Rathbone Burgess Cheese Traditional Kitchenware. The second item is a ceramic flagon or decanter with a loop handle and matching ceramic-topped stopper. The body is decorated with vertical blue stripes and a central cartouche depicting a thistle above the word Sherry in black lettering. A handwritten numeral 3 is present to the right of the central design.
