Lot 25:
Stone Gardenurn made from reconstructed stone
Description
A large garden urn of campana form, constructed from weathered reconstituted stone. The vessel features a wide, flared rim with a textured surface, tapering to a body adorned with high-relief twin masks depicting bearded male figures, possibly satyrs or in a Bacchic style. The urn is supported by a separate circular pedestal base, decorated with a band of floral rose swags and petal moulding. The surfaces show extensive exposure to the elements with a natural patina of lichen and moss. No maker marks are visible. A white auction label is affixed to the interior rim marked with Lot 25.
