A Napoleonic Era British Landing Party Diorama Featuring a Wooden Whale Boat and Hand-Painted Miniature Figures Metal
Description
A detailed historical diorama depicting a British combined operations landing party during the Napoleonic Wars. The scene features a wooden model of a whale boat or longboat, constructed with a planked hull painted in white and green. The interior is finished in natural wood, showing benches, floorboards, and structural ribs. The vessel is heavily populated with a group of hand-painted metal miniatures, likely 54mm scale. The figures include British Line Infantry Redcoats in scarlet tunics with white cross-belts and black shakos, depicted in various poses with muskets. They are accompanied by Royal Navy sailors in blue jackets and white trousers, with one figure manning the tiller at the stern. The model is equipped with a single mast carrying furled white sails, and several oars are stowed along the gunwales. A small white rectangular sticker with the handwritten lot number 923 is present on the starboard side of the hull.
